Admissions Procedures and Children Missing Education
This course will look at the Admission and Children Missing Education Procedures schools need to follow. It is aimed at front line practitioners and Attendance Leaders wishing to look at the paperwork and the processes. It will serve as an update for staff who are already familiar with these but it will also be of interest to those people working in the field for the first time. The course is suitable for staff from primary or secondary settings.
Safer Recruitment Training in Education Settings
This course was commissioned by the DfES and developed by NCSL in response to recommendation 16 of the Bichard Inquiry report (published June 2004), which relates to training for Head Teachers and School Governors to ensure that interviews to appoint staff reflect the importance of safeguarding children. The guidance applies to independent and maintained schools.
From January 2010 every Head Teacher/Principal and a Governor must have completed the training and every interview panel must now include at least one person that has passed the safer recruitment assessment.
