Secondary Art, Craft and Design Conference 2019

Leading Learning Partnership

Outline

This year, we are delighted to announce that our Secondary Art, Craft and Design Conference will be hosted by Leeds City College at their new Creative Arts campus located at Quarry Hill. Delegates will be able to enjoy a choice of workshops and practical activities delivered by tutors from Leeds City College and Leeds Arts University. The focus of the day will be on curriculum development in the light of the new Ofsted Framework.

Please note that the conference is offered significantly below our usual day delegate rate due to the support received from Leeds City College and Leeds Arts University.

Description

The day will begin with a keynote speech from Louise Clazey, an influential Head of Art at Cramlington Learning Village, a very large secondary school in Northumberland. She has extensive experience working in a variety of school and community settings over the past 20 years delivering Art and Design, Photography and Design Technology at all key stages. Louise is an active user of social media, and is passionate about raising awareness of the benefits of this as a tool to connect, collaborate and communicate with other creative practitioners.

Developing, exploring and experimenting with emerging new media is one of her many passions, in addition to promoting the relevance and importance of studying art history, in particular at KS3. In her 4 years at Cramlington Learning Village, Louise has successfully crafted an exciting and innovative Art and Design curriculum, which has significantly improved student engagement, interest and outcomes.

Following the keynote delegates will choose from a wide selection of CPD workshops.
