The Primary Design and Technology Subject Leader Network will look at how D&T can be delivered effectively across a school, considering curriculum, progression and assessment.
Over three sessions, the network will provide delegates with an opportunity to reflect, discuss and share best practice with colleagues from other schools.
Session 1 will focus on leadership and how to implement a rich and engaging D&T curriculum in school.
Through practical activities, delegates will explore what it means to be a D&T subject leader. Participants will explore National Curriculum requirements and will consider how to plan a D&T curriculum across key stages which supports pupil’s progression and assessment.
- Gain a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of a D&T subject leader
- Develop an understanding of D&T planning which they can use to support class teachers
- Participate in a number of practical activities than can be replicated in the classroom
- Receive a set of resources to support them in their role
