Primary: Curriculum Planning - Art, Craft and Design

Inspire, Create, Achieve

Outline

The Primary Art Subject leader network will look at how Art, Craft and Design can be delivered effectively across a school, considering curriculum, progression and assessment.

Over three sessions, the network will provide delegates with an opportunity to reflect, discuss and share best practice with colleagues from other schools.

Description

Session 1 will focus on leadership and how to implement a rich and engaging Art, Craft and Design curriculum in school.

Through practical activities, delegates will explore what it means to be an art subject leader.
Participants will explore National Curriculum requirements and will consider how to plan a visual art curriculum across key
stages which includes pupil’s progression (skills, knowledge and understanding) and assessment.
