Secondary: Art and Design Conference 2017 (NQT/Student bookings)

In partnership with Leeds College of Art ‘The journey of a young artist’

Outline

The 2017 Art conference will focus on engaging and raising the aspirations of students through the development of teachers’ pedagogy, as well as increasing understanding of progression routes at post 16. The conference programme is designed to enthuse and excite teachers, providing strategies to use in school to inspire our young artists and diminishing the differences for vulnerable learners. The day will begin with a keynote address delivered by Paul Carney, an NSEAD registered art consultant with a considerable track record in the world of art education.

Please note for health and safety reasons please wear closed footwear, and whilst aprons will be provided, delegates are advised to wear sensible clothing and be prepared for a hands on session using materials that could transfer onto clothing.

Description

The day will include a keynote speech from Paul Carney, a nationally recognised art education specialist. Delegates will also be able to participate in a variety of workshops, delivered by local experts. There will also be an opportunity to share good practice with art educators from across the region.
